Updating DNS records with a domain registrar

The below document provides instructions on how to update A and SPF records with some popular domain registrars.

If you are experiencing issues creating or changing any records, it is recommended that you contact your domain registrar customer service.

IP addresses for A records

If your site's DNS was hosted with another provider and you were just pointing an A record to our system, here are instructions on how to change the IP records you point to:

Old IP address                New IP address

192.150.2.140                    54.236.190.114

192.150.8.140                    54.246.209.120

202.176.14.137                  54.252.148.183

If you are not sure which was your old IP address, try pinging the secure subdomain (*.worldsecuresystems.com) for your site. To ping a site, follow these instructions:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • If you are using Windows, go to Start->Run (or search)->cmd.exe
    • If you are using Mac, search and open the Terminal application
  2. Type in the following: ping yoursite.worldsecuresystems.com

    replace yoursite with your subdomain

  3. Use the IP address you see on the screen to point your domain name to our servers.

Ensure that you don't forget www subdomain. You will usually have to create 2 A-records, one for your domain and for the www version of your domain. You can also create a CNAME between www and non-www URLs.
