In this article, you'll learn how to create an online interface on a site that enables visitors to sign in and edit their account information.
This article assumes that you've previously created a Secure Zone. To get an overview of how Secure Zones work, see Understanding Secure Zones.
Creating an Update Details Form for Customers
To build an area where visitors can log in and update their details such as password and email address, follow these steps:
- Create a Secure Zone.
- Create a web page and add it to the Secure Zone, as described in the article linked in Step 1.
- Edit the web page, by navigating to Website > Web Pages and then click on the Web Page you would like to update.
- Click the Module Manager button (blue plus icon) to launch the Module Manager in the right sidebar. In the sidebar, click the Secure Zone item to expand that section, and then click the Customer Update Details Form sub item.

- The Module Manager updates to display a preview of the form. Click Insert to insert the form and then click Save and Publish at the bottom of the Web Page.
Allowing Customers to Update CRM Form Fields
In order to allow customers to update custom CRM Form fields, you will first need to create the CRM Forms within the system. Refer to this article for details.
Once you have created the CRM Forms you would like to use, you can then follow steps 1-4 above to open the Customer Update Details Form. On step 5, you will see that the module manager tab now shows the option to include additional CRM Forms to update. Select the CRM fields you would like to add to the update details form and then click Insert.

Note: Only CRM Forms that have been assigned to attach to contacts can be used in the update details form. This is set in the Admin > Extend CRM database > Set Default use screen as below:


Setting up a Password Retrieval workflow
In this section, you will learn how to customize the password retrieval page when a customer clicks the 'Lost Password?' link.
Your customers can access the password retrieval form by clicking on the 'Lost Password?' link which can be found on the secure zone login form as shown below:

Inserting a secure zone login form
- Create a Secure Zone.
- Create a Web Page and add it to the Secure Zone, as described in the article linked in Step 1.
- Navigate to the new Web Page via Website > Web Pages and selecting the page you have created in step 2.
- From the Action Box, click Add Modules to web Page
- From the Module Manager side bar, click Secure Zone
- Click Secure Zone Login Form
- You will now see a preview of the Secure Zone login form. Click Insert
- To save this Web Page, click Save and Publish below the online editor
The next step will cover customizing the password retrieval form.
Customizing the password retrieval page
To customize the password retrieval form, follow the below steps:
- Navigate to Admin > Customize system messages
- Here you will see the below system messages that can be customized:
- Password Retrieve Request - This is the page that is displayed when the customer clicks the Lost password? link.
- Password Retrieve Confirmation - Confirmation message shown to a user after retrieving their forgotten/lost password
- Password Reset - This message is displayed when a user resets their password after clicking the reset link emailed to them.
- Password Reset Success - Confirmation message shown to a user after he has successfully reset his password
Emailing a Customer Username and Password
If you would like to email a customer their login details (username and password), then this can be done from within the admin of your site. To achieve this, follow the below steps:
- From within the Admin of your site, navigate to Customers > Search
- Search for the customer you would like to send these details to by using the field provided
- You should now be on the Customer details screen. From the action box, click Manage Customer Subscriptions
- Scroll down to the Secure Zone Subscriptions section and click the Email Login details button
- This will now send the login details to the primary email address attached to this customer record
